The Kinshasa branch in the DRC’s south-east province is in the middle of the greater Kingabwa timber processing area where logs arrive from the north of the country.

Eager for the day

Sawmillers from the area are already seeing the difference in the levels of service that ConneX Forestry now brings with new machine and accessories sales taking off and all their service needs now promptly taken care of.

While the DRC has a lot of timber available to develop the country’s economy, the situation on the ground looks very different.

Raw log exports are providing some income for the country’s economy but nowhere near what it could earn from local manufacturing or the export of high-value sawn timber.

One of the missing ingredients that can boost local manufacturing and increase high-value sawn timber exports is an active and modern sawmilling sector.

The launch of Wood-Mizer’s two new branches promises to lend support to the DRC’s push to develop the sawmilling sector in the country.

Sawmillers in both areas will now have access to Wood-Mizer’s entire range together with high quality after sales service that can help to start a new small sawmilling business or improve working sawmills that want to become more profitable.

Wood-Mizer’s sawmill range includes basic entry level sawmills through to professional and industrial sawmilling solutions. A full range of blades and equipment to resharpen used blades are also available.

A successful day in Kinshasa

Wood-Mizer’s thin kerf narrow bandsaw blades waste less timber so more sawn timber can be produced for higher profits.

Wood-Mizer also believes that selling a sawmill is only the first part of the journey.

Supporting the sawmiller with effective service during the lifetime of the machine makes it possible for the sawmiller to get the best performance from his or her new sawmill.

The availability of trained technicians, spares parts, maintenance and training support enable sawmillers to work longer, harder and more effectively with less downtime to improve output and profits.
